It's really unfair to call a San Diego summer wedding a "job". This was like a vacation for me! The day started with me helping the father of the bride pick up the cake. Then I helped set up with friends and family. Everyone seemed to be joyful from the start and ready to celebrate a very special couple. I walked around and took photos of the flowers and other various details. Then I caught up with the bride to catch her getting ready. She was enjoying all of the family fuss and a few drinks and just having a good time - and the party hadn't even started yet. The day just got better and better…
Kids in weddings are always a challenge for the parents! Getting all dressed up and having to be super careful not to get dirty or mess up that special hairdo does not come naturally. Parents have to bribe and fuss and sometimes get a little flustered. I know - I've been there! But it is always worth it and these two precious siblings did an amazing job. Big brother encouraged his sister all the way down the isle. They will never forget being a special part of their auntie's special day - not to mention they look their most precious ever. Totally worth all the fuss!
The slow walk, the vows, the rings, the kiss. It never gets old. As this couple makes their committment to each other in front of their closest friends and family, I feel happily sappy all over again. I do so love my job.
Let the party begin! The children are finally free of the burden of being glamorous and choreographed. The guys can loosen their ties and the ladies can kick off the heels.
I absolutely love this last photo. And I especially love that it was the grooms idea. He saw the bright moon and wanted a photo with his bride under it. The moon and the streetlamp lit them up and bid a bright goodnight to this happy couple. Perfect way to end the night.
